Mae Evelena McAnally, 86, of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Evelena was born May 2, 1934 to Walter and Elna (Hancock) Klusmeyer near Lookeba, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Lookeba-Sickles High School, She met the love of her life, Ira McAnally, at a skating rink in Hinton Oklahoma. On June 2, 1952, they were united in marriage in his grandparents home near Highland United Methodist Church.

Evelena worked for the telephone company as an operator while Ira attended college at Cameron and OSU. She helped support the family by working at Sequoyah Carpet Mills and Fort Cobb Tag & Tax Agency while Ira transitioned from working for the U. S. Soil Conservation Service (USSCS) into farming. Evelena always said she married Ira because he was a college man, not a farmer. "Time changes all."

God blessed Ira and Evelena with four wonderful children. Evelena was a loving wife, mother, grandma, neighbor and friend. Her greatest love was for her husband and family. She really enjoyed all the time spent with her grandchildren. She always looked forward to the Hancock reunions where she could visit and catch up with her many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

After retiring from farming, they established the McAnally Tax Service to provide accounting and tax preparation services to the public with specialization in farming. Evelena was an active member of Fort Cobb United Methodist Church and later the Highland United Methodist Church. Evelena was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Fort Cobb.
